Wahran font

About the project

Wahran font was designed primarily for use in titles. Although it is a modern interpretation of the Kufic script, the spirit of the original font is still present. Wahran font is robust with a clear structure, which results in the presence of more flat shapes and joints. It is available in three weights and offers various ligatures and stylistic sets. This makes it suitable for titles and short texts, books, prints, and social media posters. The work on Wahran font began in late 2021, and after an extensive journey of design, refinement, and programming, it was launched in June 2022. Wahran font is available for free personal use. Wahran (or Oran) is an ancient Algerian city, reflecting the font's connection to rich cultural heritage.
